Lovely Laurel | Wedding Day Bridal Portraits

This is lovely Laurel on her wedding day. Not every bride wants, or has time to do a separate bridal portrait session. If you set aside a some time on your wedding day, you can have a beautiful little collection of bridal portraits like Laurel.

Laurel’s wedding gown and hair were just perfect, along with her birdcage veil. This vintage inspired styling was stunning with Laurel’s creamy complexion and light hair and eyes. She’s dreamy, don’t you think?

Sam and Brandon | Salt Lake City Engagement Session

Sam and Brandon are the winners of The Gateway Ultimate Wedding Giveaway. Along with my wedding photography services, they will also receive wedding goods from fantastic Utah wedding vendors. You can find out more about the big competition they participated in, which won them this fantastic wedding prize, in my recent blog post about it, HERE.

Sam, Brandon, and I had a really fun time running around downtown Salt Lake City during their engagement session. We fought the wind most of the time, but I say, we won! Can’t wait for their wedding in May, at the elegant Grand Hall in the former Utah Pacific Train Depot. The interior, comprised of arches and gilded decoration will make for a beautiful affair…and a great backdrop for photos of Sam and Brandon’s wedding day.

Stay tuned for Sam and Brandon’s romantic/cute/thoughtful proposal story, caught on video. Brandon outdid himself!

The Gateway Ultimate Wedding Giveaway

Last summer, I was contacted by The Gateway marketing department about a wedding contest–The Gateway Ultimate Wedding Giveaway. I was asked if I’d like to participate as the wedding photographer for the couple who won the contest. I sure did! Sam and Brandon were the lucky winners. They competed in many wedding-related contests against other hopeful couples. Each of the contests were shown on Fox 13 News, with Big Budah there to comment on all the action. Viewers were asked to vote on The Gateway’s Facebook page, for their favorite couple.

From me, they won a great wedding photography package, that included the following:

  • Up to 8 hours wedding day coverage
  • Engagement Session and 8 x 10 print
  • Bridal Portrait Session and 8x 10 print
  • $1000.00 credit toward a wedding album

I’m having a great time working with Sam and Brandon. They are so appreciative, and just plain fun to be around. Stay tuned for their engagement photos shot in Salt Lake City!

Below, are videos highlighting the competition.

The first video on Fox 13 News, about the giveaway. Check out Brandon, dancing in the background for the camera. He’s a crack up. So silly and fun.

One of many competitions held at The Gateway, for the giveaway–the Ice Cream Challenge, which Sam and Brandon won:

Emily | Gone With the Wind

What a bride and what a dress! Emily’s mom found this sumptuous wedding gown in a consignment shop when Emily was fifteen. She bought it, knowing that one her girls just had to wear it for their wedding. Emily is a petite thing with a big personality, and she totally pulled off this fantastic dress. It’s a little ‘Gone With the Wind’, which is perfect, because the photography gods gave us a blustery day with beautiful light for Emily’s bridal portrait session at the Utah State Capitol and my favorite little home boutique.
