MEET MELISSA

March 3, 2008

THE FUN STUFF.

I love my red patent leather shoes.
I have two dogs and a husband.
The dogs are black, the husband is Todd.
I love them dearly.
I like mashed potatoes and Red Vines.
I really like shopping for office supplies.
I’m addicted to grosgrain ribbon.
I’m fun.
I like to laugh loudly.
I like to make people feel comfortable.
I use a lot of commas and explanation points.
My favorite color is apple green.
I love babies.
I love families.
I love weddings.
I love photography.

THE TECHNICAL STUFF.

I received my Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Photography in 2000.
I’ve been a photographer for about 10 years.
I’ve trained with some amazing photographers.
I’ve always done art.
I constantly seek to improve my craft.

I attend regular photographer meetings, educational seminars, and am always researching shot ideas, techniques, equipment, and business information.
I can’t seem to get enough!

THE STYLE STUFF.

It’s all about style.

One of the most common things brides say to Melissa when they first contact her is, “I love your style!”

You’ve put so much energy into making your wedding day about you and what you love.  Your unique touches in the flowers and decor, the dress, the tuxes, and reception site tell your guests who you are.

Melissa’s lifestyle photography, meets photojournalistic photography, meets fine art style, captures the details and emotion of your day, right down to the buttons on your dress, your super-cute shoes, and the sparkle in your eye.  Lifestyle photography captures the ambience, the details, and the feeling of your wedding day.  Photojournalistic photography captures the smiles, laughter, and tears-the real, unposed, unplanned moments of your day.  The art part is unique angles, a special perspective, fashion influence, and conceptual ideas. You could call it LIFESTYLEPHOTOARTILISM!

When you spend so much energy (and moolah) on the details, you want a photographer who can beautifully capture the little details as well as the big picture.  Melissa has the ability to do both in an artistic, dramatic way.

Melissa’s goal is simple: to create engaging, creative and unique, but timeless wedding photography and portraiture that makes people happy.

Melissa Kelsey is a Utah Wedding Photographer based in Salt Lake City and is available for travel anywhere.
