Sk8 or die! Yeah, I grew up in the eighties | Jen and Jeff’s Engagement Photos

Jen and Jeff are easy-breezy.  They didn’t get caught up in all the trappings of wedding planning.  In fact, they decided to get married in Fiji with only their parents in attendance.  I really tried to get them to bring me along, but that didn’t work out, but I did get to photograph their engagement photos, bridal portraits, and Utah wedding reception.

We started with their engagement photo session, to which they brought their skateboards.  Jeff sped off on his every chance he got.  By the way, I did ride a skateboard back in the day and could even do an ollie–not too shabby for a girl. ;)  So, this fun shoot was right up my alley.

Oh, and a semi-truck hit me in the leg while I was photographing Jen and Jeff.  Sometimes, I get so wrapped up in what I’m doing, I forget what’s around me.  I was in front of the bay the driver was pulling out of and he didn’t see me.  It just left a bruise, but it definitely woke me up!

Laurel and Morgan | Salt Lake City Engagement Photos

Laurel and Morgan are getting married in about a week at the Salt Lake City LDS Temple, with a reception to follow at a private residence in Holladay, Utah.   I really dig their style, so I’m looking forward to seeing their garden reception decor in navy and green, with a vintage feel.  Don’t you just love Morgan’s dapper vest and linen pants, and Laurels super-cute skirt?  The backdrop of this hidden nature park was perfect for a J.Crew kind of look for their engagement photo session.  See you two on August 12th!

Look Who’s Getting Married! | Utah Wedding Photography

Megan and JJ are getting married tomorrow at the Riverwoods Marriott in Logan, Utah.  It’s gonna’ be pretty!  Outdoor weddings are my favorite.

I love this couple and I love Megan’s family (haven’t met JJ’s yet).  I photographed Megan’s sister, Amanda’s wedding a couple of years ago, and recently did her post-wedding bridal portraits, HERE.

What I loved about Megan and JJ’s  engagement session, is that they were always laughing.  They are so easy to photograph and it just felt like we were hanging out and happened to be taking engagement photos.

Just wait until you see Megan’s bridal portraits…yowzer!  I’ll share those after the wedding…you know, since we don’t want JJ to see her in her dress before the wedding.

Look Who’s Getting Married! | Utah Wedding Photography

Matt and Andrea are getting married Saturday at the Salt Lake LDS Temple, and their reception is today at Thanksgiving Point.  I’m looking forward to a breezy, warm, evening garden reception full of vintage decorations and beautiful flowers in soft shades of rose and cream.  I love outdoor weddings and receptions.  They feel so free and easy.

For Matt and Andrea’s engagement session, we took a little tour of Salt Lake City.  It was a spontaneous adventure.  We started near my house in Holladay, at a laundromat where I take my comforter since it’s too big for my washing machine.  One day, when I was there, attending to said comforter, the light was streaming through the windows and I thought it would be a great new place for an engagement session.

After hitting the laundromat, where Andrea’s mom helped a stranger fold his underwear (that’s another story),  headed toward downtown Salt Lake City, stopping along State Street, whenever we saw something we liked.  Thanks to Andrea’s mom, Margo, for driving…and cinnamon hot chocolate to warm us up.

We ended the evening in a grassy field overlooking Salt Lake City. How nice.
